Saturday 7th July and Truduct’s Keith Weavin will achieve a long term ambition.

As an enthusiastic and seriously competitive cyclist since childhood, Keith has for years craved the “ultimate cycling challenge” - taking part in the legendary, La Marmotte!
The classic cyclo-sportive event, based in the French Alps starts in Bourg d’Oisans and in a one-day period covers 174km of alpine cycling, climbing over 5000m through some of the most feared Tour de France mountain passes. (As a comparison, Snowdon is a little under 1100m high).
The event finishes with a tortuous ascent of 21 hairpin bends to Alpe d’Huez, home of many breathtaking finishes in Le Tour.
Make no mistake La Marmotte is a serious and perilous challenge!
So, perfect for the over fifties, then!

Whilst some, or rather all - have questioned his sanity, Keith’s colleagues and friends wish him a safe and successful venture.
