Many will have heard him on the telephone, well here is the face behind the voice.

Mark has been with Truduct since he was a young lad of fifteen, training with us via a Modern Apprenticeship Scheme to become a highly regarded and valued member of our staff.

So, at the risk of frightening everyone, we finally agreed to show a picture of him on the website!

Happy Birthday, Mark!

Jul 25, 2012 - La Marmotte - Part 2

Saturday 7th July - Success!

We are pleased to confirm that Keith was successful in completing the epic cyclo-sportive event, La Marmotte.

This is a serious challenge over serious mountains (174km of alpine cycling, ascending over 5000m) with devastating climbs and perilous descents.

Words like "gruelling", "arduous" and "exhausting" are an understatement.

Keith finished the event, physically and mentally drained, in a touch over 9 hours - longer than he had hoped for but still a massive achievement!

He explained, "By the third of the four ascents I felt physically sick and thought I wasn't going to finish. I've never had to dig so deep and neither has my team mate. We were both grateful for the mutual support and encouragement that kept us going."

When questioned about the wisdom of entering such an event at his age, Keith does now acknowledge that he probably needs psychiatric help.

Congratulations all the same!

Jul 3, 2012 - La Marmotte

Saturday 7th July and Truduct’s Keith Weavin will achieve a long term ambition.

As an enthusiastic and seriously competitive cyclist since childhood, Keith has for years craved the “ultimate cycling challenge” - taking part in the legendary, La Marmotte!

The classic cyclo-sportive event, based in the French Alps starts in Bourg d’Oisans and in a one-day period covers 174km of alpine cycling, climbing over 5000m through some of the most feared Tour de France mountain passes. (As a comparison, Snowdon is a little under 1100m high).

The event finishes with a tortuous ascent of 21 hairpin bends to Alpe d’Huez, home of many breathtaking finishes in Le Tour.

Make no mistake La Marmotte is a serious and perilous challenge!

So, perfect for the over fifties, then!

Whilst some, or rather all - have questioned his sanity, Keith’s colleagues and friends wish him a safe and successful venture.
